The 2013 Annual General Meeting will take place on Wednesday August 14th at Woodpeckers Woodfired Pizza, Subiaco (B28 in the Entertainment Book).
Along with the regular items (election of committee, annual reports, etc) there are some proposed constitutional changes which will help to streamline administration of membership fees. Instead of recording membership renewal dates for each members, ALL memberships will become due for renewal on a single date (1st May).
Section 7 of the club Constitution will be changed as follows:
Current rules:
7.1 Fees for each class of membership will be set and published by the Management Committee.
7.2 Ordinary, Social, Junior, and Club/Team Affiliation Membership is valid for 12 months from receipt of payment, or in the case of membership renewal, 12 months from renewal due date
7.3 Social Membership may be upgraded at any time to Ordinary Membership by paying the difference in fee amount.
7.4 Junior Membership will be upgraded to Ordinary Membership, without cost, upon the member’s 18th birthday. The membership renewal date will remain unchanged.
Replace with:
7.1 Subscription fees for each class of membership will be set and published by the Management Committee. Fees will be reviewed at the Annual General Meeting and the members may provide recommendations for the Management Committee to consider.
7.2 Each member must pay to the Treasurer, annually on or before 1 May or such other date as the Management Committee determines, the amount of the subscription determined under sub-rule 7.1.
7.3 Subject to sub-rule 7.4, a member whose subscription is not paid within 3 months after the relevant date fixed by or under sub-rule 7.2 ceases on the expiry of that period to be a member, unless the Management Committee decides otherwise.
7.4 A person exercises all the rights and obligations of a member for the purposes of these rules if his or her subscription is paid on or before the relevant date fixed by or under sub-rule 7.2, or within 3 months thereafter, or such other time as the Management Committee allows.
7.5 Junior Membership will be upgraded to Ordinary Membership, without cost, upon the member’s 18th birthday.
For the purpose of transition from the current system to the new, members who renewed their membership between January 2013 and July 2013 are considered paid until May 2014. All other members are requested to pay 50% of the regular annual fee at their scheduled renewal date in order to extend their membership to May 2014.
